Dear Personal Log,

I'm here at camp! There are so many new people to meet and I'm just so excited. My roommates so far seem nice. Anya's real interesting, and very literal. She has clearly had a good bit of education. It makes me feel a bit down, cause everyone's so proper and I'm just not raised like that. I don't think anyone's caught on to the fact that I'm about 2 years yonger than everyone. But that's okay, I like it knowing people think I'm older. There are some mighty fine boys here too. The man that signed me in was real pretty. I think he was flirting with me. I think I liked it. I cannot wait to get out and meet more people!

I love meeting new people.

Dear Personal Log,

I am leaving in a few minutes to get on the space shuttle that will take me to the planet Camp Nowhere is at. I am so excited! Even though I know I'm being sent away, I can't help but be looking forward to it a little more than a lot. I get to met new people! I love meeting new people. Momma gets mad cause sometimes I hang out at the docks and talk to the crews coming in an out. She thinks is "inapprotiate" for a girl my age to be hanging out with those types. I don't know when I am going to tell her that that's what I want to do one day. I want to be a mechanic on a ship and see the whole Verse! All the way out to the Edge and all the way in to the Central Planets.

Oops! I have to finish packing and go! I'll write more when I arrive. I'm so excited!

Momma says the war is getting worse. The independents are losing and the Alliance are just crushing ‘em. I think that’s why they wanna send me away to camp. The war is getting closer to this little moon, and they don’t want me here. So, they found this Summer Camp a few planets away that they think will be safe. Momma said they want me to get out some and let me see some of the Verse. I know that’s a load of space trash, they never cared if I saw the Verse before. It’s cause the war is getting closer and they think they can keep me safe. I don’t really wanna go, I don’t wanna leave em here. But at the same time... I have always wanted to leave, to see the stars up close. I made them promise to write me all the time, so I know they are safe.

Hopefully I will at least meet some boys this summer, so it will be worth it.
